ターフェアイトには、1945年、アイルランドの鉱物愛好家、ターフェ伯爵が宝石商の標本箱から発見したという興味深いエピソードがあります。Web(Wikipedia)で検索すると、英語他5ヵ国語だけしかこの逸話がエントリーされておらず、あまり周知されていない稀少石と思われます。通常は茶色がかった紫、または灰色を帯びた紫で、内包物が多いもの。当石は、透明度の高いラベンダー色でしかも2ctアップ。さらに、シャープなカットが、カラーに深みを宿らせています。こだわりのオーダー品。
